New federal data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration show that states where marijuana sales remained illegal typically had the highest rates of treatment admissions for cannabis.

The Ohio Senate General Government Committee advanced a bill to gut the voter-approved marijuana legalization law—including by repealing home grow rights, criminalizing the use and possession of cannabis obtained outside of a licensed retailer, reducing possession limits, increasing taxes and steering revenue from equity to police.

Germany’s Bundestag delayed a vote on a marijuana legalization bill that had been planned for this week. Now, due to concerns among leaders of the Social Democratic Party, the cannabis legislation cannot advance until next year.

Bipartisan Wisconsin lawmakers are seeking cosponsors for a new bill to decriminalize marijuana.

New Hampshire lawmakers prefiled bills for 2024 to legalize medical cannabis home cultivation and add eating disorders as qualifying conditions. Meanwhile, other legislators have requested that measures to legalize recreational marijuana and allow psychedelics for therapeutic use  be drafted.

Veterans groups—including Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America—sent a letter urging President Joe Biden to ensure the marijuana scheduling “is concluded in a timely manner” while making sure that Congress “builds on this historic progress.”

Missouri marijuana workers are pushing to unionize in the face of resistance from management.

Oklahoma’s top medical cannabis regulator is calling on lawmakers to pass legislation regulating hemp-derived products.

Illinois regulators filed revised medical cannabis rules.

Alaska regulators filed changes to rules on marijuana seeds and clones and on variety packs.

Missouri regulators published guidance on operational deadline extensions for marijuana businesses.

California regulators will institute a new cannabis transfer approval process on January 2.

New York regulators will host a town hall on marijuana equity business licensing on Wednesday and will hold a public meeting on Friday.
