A new poll found that 67 percent of Florida voters support a marijuana legalization initiative that the state attorney general is trying to keep off the 2024 ballot. There’s majority support in every single political, age, gender and race demographic.
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine hosted state and local marijuana regulators for a two-day conference of wide-ranging discussions about legalization implementation in their jurisdictions.
The Congressional Research Service is cautioning that hemp industry groups’ “differing priorities” that are “often are tied to the primary products they produce” may “complicate” efforts to amend policies related to the crop through the next Farm Bill.
New York lawmakers sent Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) a bill to allow hemp seeds to be included in animal feed for pets, horses and camelids such as llamas and alpacas.
The Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency launched a new social equity grant program that will award $1 million to eligible marijuana businesses for education, business needs and community reinvestment.
The California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development is now accepting applications for a local grants program aimed at “economic justice for populations and communities impacted by cannabis prohibition and the War on Drugs.”
Illinois lawmakers are sending Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) a bill to aid small marijuana growers and suspend licensing fees for cannabis transporters.

The House marijuana banking bill got one new cosponsor for a total of 95.

A New Jersey senator filed a bill to legalize medical cannabis home cultivation.
An Ohio senator authored an op-ed arguing that lawmakers should be careful in amending the state’s voter-approved marijuana legalization law.
A California senator sent a press release about his bill to allow cannabis cultivators to change their license types being signed into law.
Missouri courts are facing a December 8 deadline to expunge felony marijuana convictions.
The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court adopted standards on substance use disorders and mental health conditions.
Colorado regulators adopted revised marijuana and hemp rules.
Minnesota regulators approved dry herb vaporization as a medical cannabis delivery method.
Alaska’s Advisory Task Force on Recreational Marijuana will meet on Tuesday.

Syracuse, New York’s mayor is facing a lawsuit alleging that racial discrimination was behind the closure of a store accused of illegally selling marijuana.
An aide to St. Louis, Missouri’s mayor suggested that members of the Board of Aldermen share responsibility for the city missing out on marijuana revenue due to a failure to report the approval of a local tax to state officials.
