The House Appropriations Committee approved a report calling on the Food and Drug Administration to “continue and increase” enforcement against CBD companies that make “misleading, unsubstantiated and false claims.”

  • Another report adopted by the panel notes the Department of Veterans Affairs’s efforts to clear up confusion about home loan eligibility for veterans who work in the cannabis industry.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) said he supports a marijuana banking bill but claimed Democrats are blocking it from advancing to the floor, saying that there’s “no way we can get it down there” and that Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is “not very cooperative with Republicans.”

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) signed a bill containing a GOP-led provision to block local advisory ballot questions—a process that has been used across the state in past elections to demonstrate widespread voter support for marijuana legalization.

Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ) and Cori Bush (D-MO) announced that they will soon be refiling a bill in Congress to federally decriminalize all drugs.

The California Department of Cannabis Control is awarding $4.1 million in grants to 18 cities and counties across the state to help them establish local marijuana business licensing programs to address unmet consumer demand and curb the illicit market.

New Jersey lawmakers filed legislation to establish a new Division on Marijuana and Cannabis Enforcement that would focus on compiling data and raising public awareness about driving under the influence and other offenses.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) wrote about the therapeutic potential of psilocybin in an email to supporters.

/ STATES

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) signed a bill on medical cannabis business license transferability and pharmacy satellite locations.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that the smell of marijuana is enough to justify police searches of vehicles.

Rhode Island’s top marijuana regulator spoke about plans to issue additional recreational business licenses.

Minnesota’s top medical cannabis regulator discussed the challenges of ensuring access for military veterans.

Alaska regulators proposed changes to rules on marijuana business signs and advertisements.

Utah regulators filed proposed changes to hemp rules.

New Hampshire’s Therapeutic Cannabis Medical Oversight Board will meet on Wednesday.

A study found that “chronic cannabis use may be associated with an enhancement of oculomotor functional resiliency and suppression of the neuroinflammatory response following 20 soccer headings.”

The Coalition for Access to Regulated & Safe Cannabis published a report highlighting New York’s relatively low marijuana revenue compared to other states.
